    In this workshop you will learn the art of wet felting and how to apply a range of techniques to create felted jewellery, decorative bowls, and ornamental objects. Wet felting is essentially the art of sculpting with wool and is easy to repeat at home, once you know the process. The possibilities are endless! Judy Lay is an experienced filter and uses both wet felting and needle techniques.

    Learn the ancient Japanese art of indigo fabric dyeing. You will explore how to create unique and intricate patterns using three different techniques with three different outcomes. Then get your hands dirty crafting your own natural unique piece. After this session you will understand the foundations of shibori dyeing and take home either a pair of shibori bamboo socks or a linen pillow case. Feel free to bring something from home to use as well. 

    All materials are provided. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm! This is a two-hour workshop and you’ll go home with a wonderful hand dyed original piece.

    Matty is the co-founder of 39.40, a small business focused on handcrafted, everyday bags, with a collection of shibori designs. Matty highly appreciates the value of artisanal designs and craftsmanship.

    In this workshop with Seventh and Two’s Kelly Gilchrist, you will learn the basics of Japanese stitch binding techniques and create your own books to take home.

     The workshop begins by creating the hardcovers which will be covered in bookbinders buckram - the standard book binding material. Once these are completed, you will be able to stitch your creation together to form a hardcover book with a simple Noble Binding (Koki Toji).

     All materials are provided. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm! This is a two-hour workshop (One style of stitching - One book to take home)
